FAQ

  • How far in advance should we book your services?

To ensure that I can provide the personalised attention every couple deserves, I recommend booking as soon as you have your wedding date set. Dates, especially during peak wedding seasons, fill up very quickly. Booking early not only secures your date but also gives us ample time to plan and perfect every detail of your ceremony.

  • Do you handle the legal aspects of the marriage?

Yes, as an authorised marriage celebrant under the Marriage Act 1961, I manage all legal requirements related to the marriage ceremony. This includes preparing and submitting the official documents required to legally recognise your marriage. My extensive training and studies in the field ensure that I am well-versed in the legalities and latest requirements, enabling me to make the process as seamless and stress-free as possible. You can focus on enjoying your special day, knowing all the formalities are expertly handled.

  • What is the Notice of Intended Marriage (NOIM) and why is it required 30 days before our wedding?

The Notice of Intended Marriage (NOIM) is an official form that must be submitted to your marriage celebrant at least one month before your wedding. This document is legally required in Australia to formally declare your intention to marry. The 30-day period allows the authorities to ensure all legal requirements are met and provides a safeguard against issues like fraud.. It’s a vital step in preparing for your big day, ensuring that your marriage is recognised legally both in Australia and internationally. If you're ready to take this step, I can guide you through the process, making it as smooth and straightforward as possible.

  • Do you offer ceremonies other than weddings?

Absolutely! In addition to weddings, I offer bespoke ceremonies for baby blessings and vow renewals. Each ceremony is custom-tailored to reflect your personal values and story. If you're interested in creating a memorable and meaningful ceremony, please don't hesitate to reach out. We can discuss your specific requirements and start planning a celebration that truly resonates with you.

  • How do we personalise our ceremony with you?

Your wedding ceremony should be as unique as your relationship. During our initial consultation, I'll get to know you and your partner’s personalities, stories, and preferences. We'll discuss your vision for the day and incorporate elements that are meaningful to you. My goal is to ensure that your ceremony is a true reflection of your bond and a celebration of your journey together.

  • Where do we meet you for our ceremony meeting?

You can come by my office in Port Elliot where we'll chat about your ceremony details. Make sure to swing by the famous Port Elliot Bakery afterwards to grab some delicious treats ie donut of the month a must-visit! I also hold quarterly meeting days at the Marion Hotel, where we can meet in a private booth to go through your legal documents and start planning your ceremony in a laid-back setting.

  • How much are your fees?

Every wedding is unique, which is why I provide customised services tailored to your individual needs. I will send you an information pack detailing my package fees initially. After we meet and discuss the details of your wedding, any applicable travel costs will be custom-quoted based on the location of your event. My aim is to ensure clarity and transparency in pricing, allowing you to make informed decisions for your special day.

  • Why are some celebrant fees higher than others?

Celebrant fees vary based on the level of personalisation, the quality of the celebrant, and the range of services offered. Higher fees often reflect a celebrant's ability to deliver a high-quality, tailored experience that encompasses everything from the essence of the ceremony to its meticulous planning and execution. A celebrant's distinctive approach can greatly enhance the atmosphere and emotional impact of your ceremony, making it a truly unforgettable experience. Understanding the value and uniqueness each celebrant brings to your special day is crucial when choosing the right one for you both.

  • How do you handle rehearsal ceremonies?

A rehearsal is key to ensuring everything runs smoothly on your wedding day. I will guide you, your partner, and your wedding party through the entire ceremony process, covering everything from the procession to the recession. This practice session not only helps iron out any uncertainties but also helps everyone feel more relaxed and confident for the big day. Excludes Micro and Elopement packages unless negotiated separately.

  • What happens if it rains on our outdoor wedding day?

Weather can be unpredictable, but your ceremony doesn't have to be. When planning an outdoor wedding, we always prepare a "Plan B". This backup plan ensures that regardless of the weather, your day will continue smoothly and beautifully. We'll discuss all possible scenarios and solutions well in advance, giving you peace of mind.

  • Can you help us with our personal vows?

Absolutely! Writing vows is a deeply meaningful experience, offering a special opportunity to express your love and commitment to each other. I provide personalised guidance and support throughout the process, offering tips and examples to spark your inspiration.

  • Can we just do the legal vows? We don’t like public speaking.

Yes, this is completely possible. For couples who prefer not to speak publicly, I offer several alternatives that maintain the significance of the occasion. You might consider sharing your vows privately in the morning, during a first look, or just after the ceremony with your photographer present. Remember, this is your day, and skipping the personal vows is entirely your choice. I am here to support and guide you, ensuring your ceremony feels comfortable and true to you.

I can’t wait to meet you!
